Services:
All services are free of charge.
HIV related services: Testing and counselling are available at our De Waterkant office - simply drop in during office hours. In addition, a full range of HIV-related services will be available at our Woostock clinic. These include HIV monitoring (CD4 and viral load testing) and free ARV (anti-retroviral) treatment. Our specialist physician, Dr Kevin Rebe, sees clients on an appointment basis - call 021 425 6463 for an appointment.
STI (sexually transmitted infections) services: Diagnosis and treatment of STIs, such as syphilis, gonnorhea and genital warts, are currently available at our De Waterkant office and will be available at our Woodstock clinic. We also provide free vaccinations against Hepatitus B.
Counselling services: In addition to medical services we also provide free counselling services for individuals and male couples. Our emphasis is on sexual health but we also address emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship problems, sexual and chemical addictions and we provide HIV-related counselling. Our psychosocial manager, Glenn de Swardt, provides free professional counselling - call 021 425 6463 for an appointment.
Support groups: Two support groups, for guys living with HIV and for guys with a sexual addiction, respectively, will commence during February 2009. Call Glenn on 021 425 6463 or 071 671 5875 for details.
Seminars and workshops: Health4Men conducts monthly seminars or workshops on topical issues. Recent topics have included 'barebacking', 'control and bondage', and an 'Ass Class'. Seminar topics are published in The Pink Tongue and on this website so check back here regularly. For more info contact Glenn on 021 425 6463.
Condom and lube distribution: We supply free water-based lube sachets and condoms to members of the public. You're welcome to collect lube and condoms from our De Waterkant office or Woodstock clinic (as of February 2009). If you're a sex worker we'll gladly supply you with free bottles of lube.
